I. Information on the Processing of Personal Data in University Services
Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa respects and upholds the right of users visiting websites within the ujd.edu.pl domain and the University’s social media platforms to the protection of their privacy and personal data. Therefore, personal data collected by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa through its websites are processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), as well as the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018.

If any data that may be considered personal data are collected while using our services, we comply with the principles set out in the GDPR and other applicable regulations. In particular, we ensure that:
- data are processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner, and are collected for specific and legitimate purposes;
- only necessary and accurate data are collected and stored only for as long as necessary;
- personal data are processed securely and based on risk assessment;
- when required, we are able to demonstrate to the supervisory authority that we comply with these obligations.
Your data may be transferred only to authorised persons, verified entities with whom we have concluded appropriate agreements, and entities entitled to receive them under applicable law.
We ensure that any person acting under the authorisation of the University and having access to personal data processes them only on the instructions of the University.
The University makes every effort to ensure that your rights related to the processing of personal data are properly respected. In particular, we ensure that:
- communication is conducted in a transparent manner;
- appropriate information and access to personal data are provided;
- requests to which you are entitled are fulfilled, including the right to rectify or erase data and the right to object to the processing of data.
We make every effort to fulfill all other obligations arising from the GDPR and other data protection regulations; however, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
During university-wide ceremonies, press conferences and other scientific or educational events, the University may conduct live streaming, photographic documentation, and video recordings for dissemination in various promotional and informational forms, including via the University website, official social media channels, and promotional materials. This may involve the publication of the image of persons participating in such events. Participation in such meetings and ceremonies constitutes consent to the processing of the participant’s image for the purposes mentioned above. Please note that:

c) the data are processed for informational and promotional purposes based on the consent of the data subject (participation in the event is considered equivalent to giving such consent);
d) the data are published on the University’s websites for no longer than four years or until consent is withdrawn by the data subject; consent may be withdrawn by sending an e-mail to biuropromocji@ujd.edu.pl;
e) the data subject has the right to access their data, request erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal;
f) the data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if they believe that the processing of their personal data violates the GDPR;
g) the data will not be processed in an automated manner, including profiling.
II. Information on cookies in University services
When visiting our website, cookies may be stored that contain, among other things: the user’s IP address, internet service provider, navigation patterns on the website (e.g. which tabs are opened), and the name of the browser used.
The ujd.edu.pl website does not automatically collect any information except for information contained in cookies (more information about cookies: https://wszystkoociasteczkach.pl/).
Cookies are used for the following purposes:
Services within the ujd.edu.pl domain:
a) adapting website content to the user’s preferences and optimising the use of websites;
b) creating statistics that help understand how users interact with the website, enabling improvements to its structure and content;
c) maintaining the user’s session on the website;
d) operating the shopping cart (publishing house store: wydawnictwo.ujd.edu.pl).
Types of cookies used within the ujd.edu.pl service:
a) session cookies – temporary files stored on the user’s device until logging out, leaving the website, or closing the browser;
b) persistent cookies – stored on the user’s device for the time specified in the cookie parameters or until deleted by the user.

Access to personal data will be granted only to authorised employees and associates of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa who process such data in connection with their duties. Data recipients may also include entities entrusted by the controller with performing certain tasks that require the processing of personal data. In order to ensure the protection of personal data, appropriate data processing agreements have been concluded with these entities.
Users’ personal data will be processed for the period necessary to achieve the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.
Websites within the ujd.edu.pl domain use plugins, buttons, or other tools enabling content sharing on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as Google Maps and YouTube videos. Visiting these platforms may result in the transfer of information about the user to those services. These services may also share such information with their partners. Using social plugins such as “Like” may involve transferring personal data (such as the user’s IP address or browser identifier) to Facebook, which may further share such data with its partners.
Personal data obtained through the fan page facebook.com/ujd_czestochowa are processed for purposes resulting from the legitimate interests of the data controller, including:
a) purposes related to the use of cookies (more: https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/)
b) marketing and statistical purposes, including the use of Facebook functions such as “Like,” sharing, or commenting on posts
c) responding to user inquiries.
Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa is not responsible for the privacy policies of external entities, including services to which links are provided. Users should familiarise themselves with the policies applicable to those entities.
Users have the following rights under the GDPR:
- the right to access their data and obtain a copy;
- the right to rectify (correct) their personal data;
- the right to restrict the processing of personal data;
- the right to erasure of personal data (subject to Article 17(3) GDPR);
- the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if the user believes that the processing of personal data violates applicable data protection laws.
