Staff of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa cordially invite you to the next event in the “Lectures at Dlugosz University” series.

The special guest will be Wiesław Kozielewicz, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Poland, one of the country’s most widely recognised and respected judges. His knowledge, experience and professional achievements have inspired generations of lawyers.

The event is organised by the Faculty of Law and Economics of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. The seminar is held under the honorary patronage of Professor Bogusław Przywora, acting Rector of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa and Vice-Rector for Research, and forms part of the “Lectures at Dlugosz University” series.

About the speaker
Wiesław Kozielewicz, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Poland, is one of the country’s best-known and widely respected judges. Through his knowledge and experience, he has inspired generations of Polish lawyers. For many years, he has been regarded as a symbol of independent judicial thinking. He is also known for his ability to explain complex legal issues in an accessible and understandable way. He has extensive experience in adjudicating disciplinary cases involving prosecutors and judges, including cases concerning legal professionals from Czestochowa. He graduated in law from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He served as a judge in the Polish ordinary courts at all levels, from district and regional courts to courts of appeal. He was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court at one of the youngest ages in the Court’s history. For many years, he served in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, where he chaired the Cassation Division. Wiesław Kozielewicz also served as Acting President of the Supreme Court in charge of the Criminal Chamber. From 2022 to 2025, he served as President of the Supreme Court in charge of the work of the Chamber of Professional Responsibility. Since 2014, he has served as Deputy Chair of the National Electoral Commission, having held the position of Chair from 2019 to 2020. Wiesław Kozielewicz is the author of nearly one hundred publications on substantive and procedural criminal law, disciplinary law, electoral law, operational activities and legal history. He has also delivered lectures at numerous academic conferences.
