PULASKI DAY AT UNIVERSITY – 19 OCTOBER 2026

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, in cooperation with the Czestochowa City Council, invites you to a commemorative ceremony honouring General Kazimierz Pułaski (1745–1779).

Date and time: Monday, 19 October 2026, at 9.30 am.

Venue: Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, 4/8 Waszyngtona Street.

The ceremony will be attended by Matt Wilson, Consul of the United States, representing the US Ambassador to Poland, as well as representatives of the University and City authorities, flag-bearing delegations and school students.

Programme
9.30 am - Welcome address, national anthems and speeches.
10.20 am - Unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the Tree of Remembrance, located in a square near the junction of Tuwima and Waszyngtona Streets.
10.45 am-1.00 pm - Events at Jan Dlugosz University, 4/8 Waszyngtona Street, Auditorium Maximum:
- announcement of the results of the art competition “Kazimierz Pułaski – a Hero of Two Nations”.
- a performance by the school choir of the C. K. Norwid Secondary School, conducted by Agata Strzelczyk, MA.
- a debate featuring historians from Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, followed by a panel session with questions from the audience.

The following exhibitions will be available at Jan Dlugosz University, 4/8 Waszyngtona Street:
“Kazimierz Pułaski – a Hero of Two Nations” – prepared by the JDU Library.
“Kazimierz Pułaski – a Hero of Two Nations” – an art exhibition prepared by the JDU Centre for Culture and the Arts.
“Freedom 250” – prepared by the US Consulate.
