7. CENTRAL EUROPEAN LEGAL & ADMINISTRATIVE FORUM IN GYŐR

On 1-2 October 2026, the 7th Central European Legal and Administrative Forum was held in Győr, Hungary, focusing on the theme “Between politics and science - challenges for the judicial application of law.” The proceedings took place on-site in Győr, with participants also able to join online.

This recurring event, traditionally organised by dr Paulina Bieś-Srokosz and prof. Ewelina Żelasko-Makowska (Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa), together with dr Jacek Srokosz (University of Opole), was held in cooperation with Széchenyi István University in Győr, represented by dr Csaba Erdős. The organisational partner of the event was the In Dubio Pro Libertate Foundation, while the main sponsor of this year’s edition was KOPIPOL - the Collective Management Organisation for Copyrights of Authors of Scientific and Technical Works.

The conference brought together representatives of numerous European academic centres, including institutions from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Spain, Italy, North Macedonia and other countries, including Nigeria. The presentations focused on the relationship between law and politics, judicial independence, the limits of judicial review, the rule of law, and the challenges involved in the application of law in contemporary states.

The programme also addressed issues concerning the impact of expert knowledge on judicial decision-making, the use of artificial intelligence in judicial practice, mediation, climate change, migration, and contemporary challenges facing public administration.

The 7th Central European Legal and Administrative Forum provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and views among representatives of various European academic centres and to further develop international academic cooperation. The event also confirmed the active presence of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa in the international discourse on contemporary legal and administrative challenges.

The conference language was English.
