PROFESSOR CEZARY KOZŁOWSKI HAS PASSED AWAY

It is with deep regret that we announce that on 14 August 2026 Professor Cezary Kozłowski passed away. He was an outstanding scientist, academic teacher and long-standing member of staff at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. He was associated with the Faculty of Science & Technology and the Institute of Chemistry and Environmental Protection, where he conducted research and teaching activities.

Professor Cezary Kozłowski was a highly respected specialist in analytical chemistry, separation processes and membrane technologies. His research interests included, among others, the extraction and separation of metal ions, transport through liquid membranes, the application of polymeric materials in separation processes, and issues related to environmental chemistry.

The Professor’s scientific achievements included several dozen research papers published in Polish and international journals. His key areas of research included the selective recovery of metals, including precious metals, the use of supported liquid membranes with ion carriers, and the development of methods for the separation and preconcentration of inorganic components. His work was cited extensively and made a significant contribution to the development of modern chemical separation methods.

Professor Cezary Kozłowski will be remembered by his colleagues, pupils and students as a dedicated academic teacher, a man of great knowledge, commitment and kindness. His scientific, teaching and organisational work has become a lasting part of the history of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on 19 August 2026 at 3.00 pm at the Church of St John the Baptist in Nowa Brzeźnica, followed by the burial at the cemetery in Nowa Brzeźnica.
