"FIDELITY AND BETRAYAL - READING ANDRZEJ WAJDA" IN BIELSKO-BIAŁA

Dr Katarzyna Zolich from the Department of Photography at Jan Dlugosz University invites visitors to the Studio of Animated Films in Bielsko-Biała from this Thursday to see the exhibition entitled: Fidelity and Betrayal - Reading Andrzej Wajda, for which she designed the exhibition space.

About the exhibition
How were Andrzej Wajda's film adaptations created? What can be discovered in his notes, sketches and storyboards?

The exhibition explores the work of Andrzej Wajda and his relationship with literature - the literature that inspired him to create his films. As the exhibition's curator, Marzena Kocurek, explains:

"This exhibition presents the outstanding film director as a thoughtful and critical reader of works of Polish literature - and beyond."

Visitors will have the opportunity to view digital reproductions of Wajda's notes, sketches and storyboard excerpts, alongside original items from the Andrzej Wajda Archive at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow.

The events form part of the nationwide celebrations marking the Year of Andrzej Wajda. The exhibition has been funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
