CLASSES FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS AT JDU

As part of the project “Discover the World with Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa”, we welcomed both primary school pupils and secondary school students, creating a space for exploring science at different stages of education.

Students from 1. Juliusz Słowacki High School took part in laboratory classes entitled “The Human being on a microscopic scale.” During the session, they had the opportunity to work with microscopes and independently observe prepared specimens. With great enthusiasm, they explored a world invisible to the naked eye while becoming familiar with the basics of scientific research. The classes were conducted by dr Agnieszka Bąbelewska and dr Barbara Majchrzak, with the support of Jakub Błaszczyk from the Faculty of Science & Technology. During their visit, the secondary school students also learned about the University’s academic programmes and the development opportunities offered by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

Meanwhile, pupils from the Primary School in Zieleniec Pierwszy visited the University building located at Zbierskiego 2/4, where they had the opportunity to experience an academic environment and learn about university life for the first time. The classes were conducted by Marta Wilczyńska-Zgrzebna MA and Amelia Plaskura MA from the Faculty of Social Sciences, who introduced the young participants to the world of science and higher education in an accessible and engaging way. The pupils learned, among other things, what a university is, what studying involves, what degree programmes are offered by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, and what the work of a university lecturer looks like. They also visited selected teaching facilities, including the lecture hall, the language classroom, and the courtroom simulation room. A lecture on unusual scientific research attracted particular interest and sparked many questions and lively reactions.

At the end of the visit, each participant received a commemorative “Little Lecturer Course Completion Certificate.” Both meetings were inspiring experiences that showed that learning can be fascinating regardless of age. We would like to thank all the participants for their presence, enthusiasm, and curiosity about the world. We already invite more schools to join the project and discover science together at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.
