PROF. JERZY MIZGALSKI HAS PASSED AWAY
On 5 May 2026, prof. Jerzy Mizgalski passed away at the age of 76. He was affiliated with Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa from February 1990 until the end of September 2022. He first worked at the Faculty of Philology and History of WSP/AJD, and later at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Throughout his academic career, he held numerous positions at the University, including Deputy Head of the Institute of Philosophy and History, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Philology and History, and Vice-Rector for Teaching and Education.
Professor Mizgalski was a respected historian and political scientist. His publications focused, among other subjects, on the identity and stereotypes of Jews and Poles. He was also one of the initiators of Polish-Jewish dialogue, co-organising the conference Żydzi Częstochowianie. He educated many generations of graduates of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.
