FINAL OF “ENGLISH IN MEDICINE” COMPETITION HELD AT JDU COLLEGIUM MEDICUM

For the third time, JDU Dr W. Bieganski Collegium Medicum, in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz V General Secondary School in Czestochowa, organised the “English in Medicine” Competition for secondary school students.

On 10 March 2026, the final stage and the ceremonial gala took place at the Collegium Medicum of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. A total of 23 students advanced to the final stage after two rounds of competition. The first stage was held in the students’ home schools and involved over 600 participants, while the second stage was organised by the Adam Mickiewicz V General Secondary School in Czestochowa.

After completing the language challenges of the third stage, participants and their teachers attended a lecture delivered by dr Kacper Packi entitled: “Steak allergy. A mysterious disease from the USA that has reached Europe.” Afterwards, the students of the Emergency Medical Services programme, under the supervision of Mmgr Wojciech Szczurak, conducted a professional first aid demonstration.

The ceremonial gala, held under the Honorary Patronage of the Minister of Education and the Mayor of the City of Czestochowa, was attended by distinguished guests including prof. Marcin Sosnowski Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation, and Małgorzata Gołębska, Education Superintendent from the Regional Education Authority in Katowice.

1st place: Wojciech Deneko – Adam Mickiewicz School Complex No. 1 in Lubliniec
2nd place: Zuzanna Panek – Romuald Traugutt II General Secondary School in Czestochowa
3rd place: Piotr Dziegieć – Feliks Fabiani I General Secondary School in Radomsko
