WELCOME DAYS AT JDU – INTEGRATION, SUPPORT & GOOD START
On Wednesday, March 4, we launched a series of meetings and events prepared for international students participating in the Erasmus+ programme and students from Ukraine taking part in the three-month internship programme.
The Welcome Day meeting was attended by students hosted at the University during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The largest groups this semester are students from Turkey, Spain, Romania, Germany and Ukraine, including participants of the three-month internship programme who are completing part of their education at our University.
The participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation, prof. Marcin Sosnowski and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, prof. Przemysław Sznurkowski, who wished the students success in their studies, perseverance and joy from every day spent at our University.
During the meeting, the students had the opportunity to learn about the most important organisational aspects related to their arrival and studies at JDU and received Welcome Packs.
The second part of the event included a Campus Tour, during which students visited the faculties of JDU and key locations in the city.
The aim of Welcome Day is to support international students in adapting to a new academic and cultural environment. It is also a great opportunity for integration and building new friendships.
On Friday, March 6, the students took part in a meeting devoted to organisational aspects of living in the “Skrzat” Student Dormitory. During the event, the participants learned about the most important rules of residence hall life and the accommodation regulations.
The Welcome Day meeting and the meeting at the “Skrzat” Student Dormitory are part of a series of events organised within the Orientation Days programme for international students of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. The organisation of the events involves: Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator – Illia Kulchikovskyi, MA; Welcome Centre Specialist – Agnieszka Jeż-Jakubczak; dr Andrii Galaidin – Deputy Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator; and dr Bartosz Stuła – Erasmus Students Club supervisor at JDU.
As part of this year’s Orientation Days, the programme includes, among others, a meeting on legal and formal aspects of staying in Poland, a walking tour of Czestochowa, a guided visit to the Jasna Góra Monastery, Polish Culture Days with a quiz, and many other events supporting integration and the discovery of Polish culture.
