ANNIVERSARY, MEMORIES & PROMOTION OF JDU IN OLESNO

The anniversary exhibition “55 years in 55 steps” has arrived at the Municipal Cultural Centre in Olesno. It has been placed in the corridor in front of the auditorium. Thanks to this excellent location, it certainly catches the attention of all visitors and other people taking part in the wide range of activities and cultural events offered by the institution. We hope that the exhibition will evoke memories among our graduates and encourage potential candidates to consider studying at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

The exhibition can be viewed for nearly two weeks in the building of the Municipal Cultural Centre (MDK) at 31 Wielkie Przedmieście Street.

Let us recall that the theme of the exhibition directly refers to the anniversary of the University celebrated this year. On 30 July 2026, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa will celebrate the 55th anniversary of its establishment.

The exhibition has been designed as a journey: from the creation of the Teacher Training College in Czestochowa (in 1971), through subsequent changes in the institution’s name (the Higher Pedagogical School in Czestochowa, Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Czestochowa), up to the establishment of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. This journey through the decades concludes at the end of 2025.

The exhibition consists of 18 panels presenting archival (as well as contemporary) documents and photographs accompanied by captions that help visitors explore the display. It made its debut during the 55th inauguration of the academic year, celebrated by the JDU community at the Czestochowa Philharmonic Hall, where staff members and guests had the opportunity to view it in the foyer. Later, throughout the autumn, it was displayed in the rector’s hall at JDU at 4/8 Waszyngtona Street. It is worth noting that the exhibition is, in a sense, a continuation of a project created and presented during the 40th anniversary of the University in 2011.

The creators of the exhibition - employees of the JDU Communication and Marketing Department - decided that it should travel around the Czestochowa region (and beyond) to inform people about the jubilee. The plan assumes that it will reach places from which our employees, students, graduates, and potential candidates come. So far, the exhibition has also been presented in Klobuck, Lubliniec, Radomsko, and Wielun.
