AGREEMENT BETWEEN JDU AND JANUSZ KORCZAK SPECIAL SCHOOL COMPLEX
The agreement was signed by the Acting Rector of JDU, prof. Bogusław Przywora, and the Head of the Special School Complex, Jolanta Miękina, MA. The signatories were represented by Deputy Head Agnieszka Nowak, MA, and School Counselor Magdalena Ptak.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, prof. Daniel Kukla, as well as the initiators of the agreement: Amelia Plaskura, MA (Department of Psychology) and Marta Wilczyńska-Zgrzebna, MA (Department of Social Research).
This initiative represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation between the academic community and educational practice. Such a partnership fosters the integration of theoretical knowledge with pedagogical experience and responds to the real needs of special and inclusive education.
The agreement is strategic in nature - it combines the University’s research and teaching potential with the practical experience of the Special School, creating a sustainable platform for collaboration aimed at the development of education and support for students.
The particular importance of this agreement stems from its focus on the needs of students with disabilities. Cooperation between the University and the Special School enables future teachers, psychologists, therapists, and other specialists to gain hands-on experience through direct contact with individuals requiring individualised educational and therapeutic support.
This is a significant initiative that promotes the development of social sensitivity, empathy, and professional responsibility. Students have the opportunity to learn about the specific nature of working with learners with diverse developmental and educational needs, which translates into the development of practical competencies and conscious preparation for their future profession.
