AUTHOR TALK WITH DR RAFAŁ SIDERSKI IN KRAKOW
We invite everyone to Krakow for a session of Photobook Talks, held at the Potocki Palace, featuring a conversation with dr Rafał Siderski (Department of Photography, JDU). The discussion will be based on two books:
- „Wyjedź/Zostań” - a personal attempt to reconstruct the absent biography of the author’s father through photographs, memories, and family narratives;
- „Dopływy, drgania, powidoki i pieśni na brzegach”, created together with Małgorzata Lebda - a record of a multi-week journey along the Vistula River, where the river itself becomes a subject: a living organism, partner, and witness.
Siderski’s photographs and Lebda’s poetic journal create a story about the coexistence of body, nature, and image; about attentiveness, effort, and fragility. The conversation will focus on working on a photobook, the relationship between image and text, archives and experience, and how photography can become a tool for empathy and storytelling about the world.
Photobook Talks is a series organised by the Visual Arts Foundation and Rust Publishing, dedicated to the most interesting phenomena in the photographic book market.
