JDU ON DISPLAY IN KLOBUCK: JOURNEY THROUGH 55 YEARS
Since 8 January 2026, the W. Sebyla Municipal Cultural Centre in Klobuck (1 Targowa St.) has been hosting an exhibition entitled “55 Years in 55 Steps.” Its theme refers to this year’s anniversary, as on 30 July 2026 Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa will celebrate the 55th anniversary of its founding.
The exhibition is designed as a journey - from the establishment of the Higher Teacher Training School in Czestochowa in 1971, through subsequent changes in the institution’s name (the Higher Pedagogical School in Czestochowa and Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Czestochowa), to the creation of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. This journey through the decades concludes at the end of 2025.
The exhibition consists of 18 display boards presenting archival (as well as contemporary) documents and photographs, each accompanied by captions that facilitate visitors’ exploration of the display. It is worth recalling that the exhibition made its debut during the 55th Inauguration of the Academic Year, celebrated by the JDU academic community at the Czestochowa Philharmonic Hall, where staff members and guests were able to view it in the foyer. Subsequently, throughout the autumn, it was presented in the Rector’s Hall of JDU at 4/8 Waszyngtona St. It should also be noted that, in a sense, the exhibition is a continuation of a project created and presented during the University’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2011.
In an effort to promote the University, the creators of the exhibition decided that it should travel throughout the Czestochowa region, informing audiences about the jubilee. It is also intended to reach places from which the University’s staff, students, graduates, and prospective applicants originate. This idea led to the exhibition being hosted, among other venues, in the welcoming spaces of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Klobuck. We hope it will be warmly received by the residents of the Klobuck region and all its visitors. The exhibition will be open for two weeks.
