ACADEMIC CZESTOCHOWA - YOUTH-FOCUSED MEETINGS

Academic Czestochowa is a joint initiative of the City Hall, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, and Czestochowa University of Technology.

We have just completed an intensive and highly valuable week. As part of the Academic Czestochowa project, four meetings were held with secondary school students. Two of them took place at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (24–25 November 2025), and the other two were held at Czestochowa University of Technology (27–28 November 2025).

The universities were represented by Vice-Rectors as well as students and doctoral candidates. The City of Czestochowa was represented by the Mayor, Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk. The debates were moderated by Anna Tymoshenko, Head of the Investor Service Centre. The meetings were also attended by Rafał Piotrowski, Head of the Department of Education of the City of Czestochowa.

Jan Dlugosz University was represented by the Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, prof.. Jakub Jakubowski together with doctoral candidates and students.

The students showed great engagement, asking questions about studies, education, academic life, as well as the functioning and development prospects of the city, quality of life, and the opportunities awaiting them after graduating in Czestochowa. The debates created an opportunity to listen to the expectations, needs and concerns of young people, and to show that it is worth staying in Czestochowa to pursue academic and professional development.

The project demonstrated the value of creating space for dialogue with young people and jointly shaping both the educational and urban environment. Thanks to these conversations, we can respond even better to the needs of our future students.

After the discussion part, students visited stands prepared by both universities. It was an excellent opportunity to speak with students and lecturers, explore the educational offer, learn about research opportunities, international exchanges and student life. Participants could also take home informational materials, allowing them to return to the most important details while deciding on their future study paths.

We thank all participants for their active involvement and inspiring questions. We are glad that we had the opportunity to talk, answer questions, and, hopefully, inspire them to view university studies as the beginning of a real, consciously shaped future in our city.
