UNDERSTANDING DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – OPENING OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH
On November 5, 2025, an information meeting entitled “Development Services Without Secrets. Support from European Funds” was held, organised by the Regional Labour Office in Katowice.
The event was attended by dr Sylwia Stachurska-Ćwiek, Director of the University Centre for Lifelong Learning.
During the meeting, the key issues related to the operation of the Development Services Database (BUR) were discussed, including:
how to add a training offer,
principles for ensuring the quality of services,
available options for financing training for companies and individuals from European funds.
It is worth noting that the University Centre for Lifelong Learning submitted an application for inclusion in the Development Services Database, which successfully passed verification on November 20, 2024. As a result, the University obtained the authorisation to provide services eligible for co-financing - in particular, training services and postgraduate studies (the authorisation is valid indefinitely).
The meeting emphasised that the development services market is changing dynamically - there is a growing demand for professional, technical, digital, and practical skills. The processes of digitalisation and the rise of artificial intelligence are increasing the importance of practical competencies that enhance work efficiency and drive economic growth. The shift in the approach to adult education is irreversible: today, real competencies matter most.
This valuable and inspiring meeting allowed participants to gain the knowledge necessary for effective participation in the Development Services Database and to explore current development opportunities offered through European Funds - at a time when adult education in Poland is entering one of the most dynamic stages of its growth.
