INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCHERS' MEETING: BIOMECHANICS 2025 & QUALITY OF LIFE

From October 22–24, 2025, the international conference “Biomechanics 2025” took place in Kochcice near Czestochowa, combined with the 6th World Scientific Congress “Quality of Life in an Interdisciplinary Approach.” The event was organised by prof. Jacek Wąsik, Head of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, under the patronage of the Polish Society of Biomechanics.

This was a truly unique event - for the first time in history, two major scientific congresses were combined, creating a shared space for the exchange of knowledge and experience among scientists involved in biomechanics, health, sport, and quality of life. The conference brought together representatives of 43 research institutions from 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Italy, and Poland.

The programme included plenary lectures, thematic sessions, a poster session, and accompanying events.

The opening lecture was delivered by prof. Nachiappan Chockalingam (United Kingdom) titled “Bridging the Gap: Translating Biomechanics Research into Meaningful Advances in Sport, Technology, and Public Health.”

Among the presentations were research papers on topics such as sports biomechanics, rehabilitation, biomedical engineering, movement analysis, as well as psychological and social aspects of physical activity. The research team from Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa presented numerous papers, including the ones on the biomechanics of strikes in combat sports and the psychosocial effects of sports training.

The joint initiative of “Biomechanics 2025” and “Quality of Life” represents an important step toward further integration of movement science, health, and technology, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary human research.

The multimedia content from the congress is available on the Facebook page of the Physical Activity Review journal.
