13. ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS’ FORUM: ON MODERN ONCOLOGY IN CZESTOCHOWA
The Polish Coalition of Oncology Patients Foundation invites to the 13th Oncological Patients’ Forum, which will be held for the first time in Czestochowa. On November 4, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, we will discuss modern oncology - the motto of this year’s edition. Participation in this unique event is free of charge.
“This year, we decided to break with the tradition of organising the Oncological Patients’ Forum in Warsaw. Starting with the thirteenth edition - which we hope will be lucky for us - we want to hold these annual meetings in various regions to be even closer to those in need,” says Elżbieta Markowska, President of the Polish Coalition of Oncology Patients Foundation and President of the Czestochowa Amazons Association.
This year’s Oncological Patients’ Forum will be held in a hybrid format – both on-site and online. About 200 oncology patients and their families, representatives of patient organisations from across the country, healthcare professionals, and medical experts will take part.
The programme includes five thematic panels and two debates. Invitations have been accepted by prominent representatives of science and medicine, the Patient Rights Ombudsman, members of parliament, representatives of the Ministry of Health, the National Health Fund (NFZ), the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System, as well as officials from the Silesian Voivodeship Office, the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, and the City of Czestochowa.
New therapies, diagnostics, and treatment
The thematic panels will cover, among others:
- modern oncological diagnostics (genetic testing, molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, PD-L1),
- innovative methods of treating malignant tumors (immunotherapy, CAR-T therapy, molecularly targeted treatment),

- innovative radiotherapy,
- the functioning of the National Oncology Network,
- oncological rehabilitation and support during and after treatment,

A key part of the programme will be a debate on access to oncological care in the Silesian Voivodeship, with the participation of, among others, Wojciech Saługa, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, and Adam Zaczkowski, Deputy Voivode of Silesia.
