ORIENTATION DAY FOR ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, a welcome meeting – Orientation Day – was held in the Aula Humanitatis at the Faculty of Humanities, attended by international students participating in the Erasmus+ programme. During the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, we are pleased to host students from Turkey and Spain at the Faculties of Science & Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law & Economics, and Arts.
The new members of our academic community were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation, prof. Marcin Sosnowski; the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, prof. Przemysław Sznurkowski; the University Erasmus+ Coordinator, Illia Kulchikovskyi; Welcome Centre Specialist, Agnieszka Jeż-Jakubczak; Erasmus Students’ Club Supervisor, dr Bartosz Stuła; and Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinators, dr Sandra Żarska and dr Izabela Ziębacz.
During the meeting, students learned about key information regarding the organisation and formalities related to their stay at Jan Dlugosz University (JDU). They received Welcome Packs and were introduced to the USOS system and various tools designed to support their adaptation, such as the Welcome to JDU mobile app, instructional videos, and the Survival Kit.
In the second part of the event, the students took a walk around the campus and the city centre.
Orientation Day was not only the first meeting but also the beginning of a series of Welcome Days events prepared especially for international students. The programme includes, among others: an organisational meeting at the “Skrzat” Student Dormitory, an integration sports day, sightseeing in Czestochowa and the Jasna Gora Monastery, Polish Culture Days with a quiz, a meeting about legal aspects of staying in Poland, a Christmas Eve gathering, a sleigh ride, and other activities promoting integration.
The students expressed their enthusiasm for building relationships and meeting their buddies from the Erasmus Student Club. Thanks to these initiatives, they will feel supported and well cared for by the Welcome Centre.
