STUDENTS FROM ARGENTINA AT FACULTY OF HUMANITIES – INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION WITHIN NAWA PROM PROGRAMME

From May 19 to June 1, 2025, at the Faculty of Humanities, Institute of History, we hosted two master's students from Argentina as part of the NAWA PROM programme. They were José D'Angelo and Federico Guidi Castañeda, students of prof. Bibiana Andreucci from the Universidad Nacional de Luján (province of Buenos Aires).

The guests from Argentina are involved in research on the history of small, local communities, such as Chivilcoy, as well as issues related to the Argentine landed gentry and agriculture. Their stay at our Institute enabled them to conduct scientific research and search for materials that will allow them to compare the processes they studied with analogous phenomena in Europe, especially in Poland and the Częstochowa region.

During the visit, the students also gave short lectures during which they presented their university, home regions and the rich historical, natural and cultural heritage of Argentina. It was an opportunity not only for scientific exchange, but also to learn about the South American perspective on local research.

The guests also actively participated in events organised by the Erasmus Students' Club and their tutor at our university – dr Bartosz Stuła. They visited Jasna Góra and also took part in an intercultural picnic, which took place in Staszic Park. There, they treated their foreign and Polish colleagues to hand-made empanadas – a traditional dish of Argentinian cuisine.

The visit of José and Federico is another step on the way to developing international scientific cooperation, as well as strengthening cultural exchange and promoting our University as a space open to dialogue and cooperation.
