PROFESSOR JANUSZ SZTUMSKI HAS PASSED AWAY

We have received sad news. On May 30, 2025, Prof. Janusz Sztumski passed away. In the years 1977-1980 he was the Rector of the Higher Pedagogical School in Częstochowa (currently Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa). He was 95.

We will remember Professor Sztumski as an outstanding scientist - an excellent sociologist, pedagogue and philosopher. He is the author of many important scientific publications and an educator of many generations of teachers and employees of educational and cultural institutions. Professor was always interested in the development of our University. He participated in numerous occasional meetings, was a guest at the ceremonial inaugurations of the academic year, always wishing students, doctoral students and employees success in the beginning of the year. He maintained close and friendly relations with the staff and graduates of the University, especially with people associated with the Faculty of Social Sciences (former Faculty of Pedagogy).

The funeral ceremony will take place on June 7, 2025 at the Kule Pre-Funeral Home (beginning at 1:00 p.m.). The urn with the ashes of the Deceased will be placed in the family grave.
