JDU coorganises “The latest achievements in diagnostics…” conference

On March 14, 2024, a scientific conference "The latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. Methods for the 21st century" was held under the patronage of the Rector Prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska and the Mayor of the City of Częstochowa Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk. The main organiser of the event was the Częstochowa Association of Amazons. A nice touch addressed to the university community was the presentation of a thank you note to Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. As it is written in the text: "It is extremely important to disseminate medical and diagnostic knowledge, which allows us to enjoy better health, as well as to take care of it through proper prevention..." 

During the conference, the speakers were former doctors of the Provincial Specialist Hospital of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Częstochowa: 
1. dr Barbara Huras, who gave a lecture entitled "The latest achievements in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors – breast cancer"; 
2. dr Jarosław Strzelczyk – "The role of anti-HPV vaccination in the prevention of multisystem cancers"; 
3. dr Grzegorz Celban - "Robotic surgery in colorectal cancer"; 
4. dr Joanna Socha - "Breast cancer – modern methods of radiotherapy". 

In the debate moderated by Katarzyna Pinkosz on Holistic treatment of cancer patients – modern methods of prevention, diagnostics and personalised therapies, the group of speakers was joined by Anna Lotos-Bieleńska (national consultant in the field of clinical genetics), Elżbieta Markowska (Association of Amazons of the Częstochowa region), dr hab. n. med, dr. hum. Sławomir Letkiewicz, prof. UJD (Dean of W. Bieganski Collegium Medicum), Tomasz Szczepanik (2nd year student of medicine). The conference was attended by over 400 participants (representatives of local government units, representatives of companies, students, patients).
