In March 2024, the Gallery of the University Library at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa presents artworks by Kamila Misiak, Agnieszka Półrola and Paulina Przeniosło. The exhibition entitled Zwierzętak!" ("AnimalsYES!") is not only an artistic exhibition, but also a meditation on the role that animals play in our personal and social lives. Inspired by the diversity of the animal world, the artists transfer to their works not only its aesthetics, but also the importance that animals have in the cultural and ecological context. From pyrography to drawings to prints and posters, each form is a conscious choice to highlight a different aspect of their subject. The works show animals as an inseparable element of human existence, symbolising both the strength and sensitivity of nature. Atendees are invited to explore how animals affect our lives – from historical meanings, through their presence in mythology and art, to contemporary environmental issues. The exhibition becomes a platform for dialogue about the interdependence between humans and animals, about our responsibility for their well-being, and about how we share space on our planet together. The works of Kamila Misiak, Agnieszka Półrola and Paulina Przeniosło, each in their own way, pay homage to this symbiotic relationship and are a reminder that human culture and civilization have developed hand in hand with our animal companions.

Kamila Misiak (Vilkuna) creates realistic images burnt by hand using the pyrography technique on various types of wood. The protagonists of her work are mainly animals and nature. The name Vilkuna combines two species of forest animals: the wolf and the marten. At the exhibition, she presents hand-burnt portraits for which the charges of animal rehabilitation centres posed.

Agnieszka Półrola graduated with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Currently, she works at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. She has presented her works in Poland and abroad (Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, South Korea, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Taiwan, Hungary, USA). She is a winner of many awards. She works in museum collections.

Paulina Przeniosło is a graduate of master's degree programme at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa at the Faculty of Art, in Graphics Design (Applied Graphics). The most important source of inspiration for the presented projects is typography. The contemporary diversity of the shape of the letters has become a means of personal, original design expression resulting from individual predispositions and creative interests. Thanks to the fusion of imagination, the world of letters acquires a new form and way of using them.
