PROF. BOGUSŁAW PRZYWORA, ACTING RECTOR, AMONG LEADERS OF HEALTH EDUCATION

On March 16, 2026, the Senate of the Republic of Poland hosted a ceremonial summary of the 7th “Health of Poles” Congress 2025 - one of the most important events dedicated to the challenges of modern healthcare and the role of science in improving quality of life. The meeting brought together represesations, and public administration.

Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska emphasised in her speech that the development of science and healthcare requires courage - both from doctors implementing modern treatment methods and from society as a whole, which must tackle misinformation and health-related conspiracy theories. She also noted that the Senate remains an important forum for debate on the future of the healthcare system, and that declaring 2025 the Year of Health Education and Prevention created space for in-depth analysis and the development of recommendations for the ministries of science and health.

Senator Beata Małecka-Libera pointed out that activities undertaken as part of the Congress, along with Senate initiatives, have strengthened the importance of prevention and health education in public debate. The event’s initiator, Professor Henryk Skarżyński, highlighted that the Congress has become an “incubator” for concrete solutions and recommendations developed by hundreds of experts representing various fields.

Prof. dr hab. n. med. dr h.c. multi Henryk Skarżyński - initiator of the event and Chair of the Program Council of the “Health of Poles” Congress - thanked everyone involved, noting that “without the work of hundreds of experts and debate participants, what we are now presenting to Polish women and men as guidelines and recommendations would not have been created, regardless of the form or who is involved.” He emphasised that the Congress served as an “incubator” for specific proposals and recommendations jointly developed by experts from many disciplines.

Prof. Bogusław Przywora received the LEADER – HEALTH EDUCATION award for his commitment to the development of Polish science and higher education, for cultivating and promoting academic heritage, advancing it, rationalising study programmes, and adapting them to a changing environment.
