JDU STUDENTS COMPLETE PROMOTIONAL PROJECT AS PART OF ERASMUS+ TRAINEESHIPS AT UNIVERSITY OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA, SPAIN

From 23 to 30 July this year, three students from Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa - Alicja Kurzycka, a Tourism student, Jan Zieliński, a History student, and Daniel Gabryś, a Journalism student - undertook short-term traineeships as part of the Erasmus+ programme at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Spain.

The main element of the mobility was the completion of a WP8 (Hands-on Projects) task - a joint promotional project resulting in two videos presenting both universities. The materials showcase the universities’ infrastructure, teaching facilities, equipment, faculties and educational offer. Their production required the students to develop a concept and script, organise filming, operate camera equipment and subsequently edit the footage.

Bringing together students from three different fields of study made it possible to approach the project from several perspectives - tourism, history and media - while putting the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies into practice through a project carried out abroad.

As part of their traineeships, the students visited the University of Castilla-La Mancha campuses in Cuenca, Toledo and Ciudad Real, where they gathered the material needed to produce the video and gained an insight into the operation of the university’s various units.

The mobility was made possible thanks to the commitment and support of prof. Sonia Merino and prof. Alejandro Prieto Ayuso on the Spanish side, and dr Bartosz Stuła, prof. Olga Binczyk, as well as the staff members of the Office of the Department for International Cooperation at Jan Dlugosz University. Their support included organising and coordinating the mobility, as well as collaborating on the preparation and implementation of the traineeships.

Thanks to their assistance, the students were able to carry out a project combining competences acquired across three different fields of study and put them to the test through real-world tasks undertaken at an international academic institution.
