JDU AT COLOURS EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES ALLIANCE CONFERENCE IN KRISTIANSTAD

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (JDU) is actively participating in this year’s COLOURS European Universities Alliance conference, organised by Kristianstad University (Sweden). The event brings together representatives from nine partner universities who work together to develop innovative, sustainable, and regionally rooted European universities.
The JDU delegation includes representatives of key Work Packages in the COLOURS project, as well as student and doctoral representatives. Participation in the conference allows the JDU team to contribute to activities in the areas of education, research, innovation, and collaboration with the socio-economic environment.
We are particularly pleased with the strong presence of the following partners from the Czestochowa region during online workshops organised as part of the conference:
Częstochowa City Hall
The Oczami Brata Foundation
Jurajski Agro Fresh Park S.A.
Regional Development Agency in Czestochowa S.A.
Regional Employers’ Organisation in Czestochowa
The involvement of our partners confirms that JDU, as a member of the COLOURS alliance, plays an important bridging role between the European higher education space and local and regional development. Discussions held during the conference, including “world café” sessions and thematic workshops, focus on social challenges, green transformation, innovative forms of education, and strengthening student and staff mobility.
JDU’s participation in the COLOURS alliance brings a range of benefits:
- for students and doctoral candidates: new mobility opportunities (physical and virtual), participation in international courses and summer schools, access to classes conducted in international teams, and project collaboration with students from other countries;
- for academic staff: participation in international teaching and research teams, joint preparation of curricula, research and implementation projects, and opportunities to develop innovative teaching methods (e.g., challenge-based learning);
- for the regional community: stronger links between the university and the socio-economic environment, development of projects responding to real regional needs, and increased visibility of Czestochowa and the region on the European map.
The costs of JDU representatives’ participation in the conference are covered by the COLOURS project budget, funded by the European Union. This allows wide engagement of our staff, students, doctoral candidates, and regional partners without burdening the university’s own budget.
