KICK-OFF - GET STARTED AT JDU! FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS DISCOVER THEIR FACULTIES, MEET NEW PEOPLE & EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES!

The Student Services Office, together with the Head of the Student Affairs Department, organised the ‘Kick-off’ event, which took place on 3 November 2026, from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm at the Academic Sports Centre of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

The event was aimed at first-year students from all JDU faculties and formed an important part of the University’s induction, integration and information activities, designed to help students make a smooth transition to university life and find their feet in their new academic environment.

The event attracted considerable interest, with large numbers of students taking part in the activities on offer and having the opportunity to discover the wide range of opportunities provided by the University beyond its academic programmes. One of the main highlights was the opportunity to meet representatives of student research societies from all JDU faculties. The students could find out about the academic, research, social and project-based initiatives taking place at the University, as well as explore opportunities to develop their own passions, interests and skills.

An important part of the event was the presentation of the University’s various units, which provide support to students at different stages of their academic journey. Representatives of the following units presented their activities and services:
- JDU Students’ Union - showcasing opportunities to take an active part in university life and the wider academic community;
- University Library - introducing students to its resources, available services and study spaces;
- Department for International Cooperation - providing information about opportunities to study abroad, including participation in the Erasmus+ programme;
- Centre for Innovative Didactics - presenting the concept of tutoring and individual support for students’ personal and academic development;
- Physical Education and Sport Centre - encouraging students to stay active and take part in sporting activities;
- University Support Centre - providing information about the various forms of assistance and support available to students.

The Student Services Office played a particularly important role among the units represented, outlining the scope of its activities, with a special focus on student financial support and grants. The students were able to find out where to access essential information, what forms of financial assistance are available and whom to contact with questions about procedures and administrative formalities.

The participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the activities of the Foreign Language Study Centre and the Internships Office, as well as discover ways of developing their artistic and musical talents by getting involved in the activities of the Academic Choir.

The ‘Kick-off’ event was not only an opportunity to discover what the University has to offer, but above all an invitation to play an active role in shaping the academic community. Thanks to the event, first-year students could see that JDU is a place where they can gain knowledge, develop their interests, bring their own ideas to life, build meaningful relationships and take advantage of numerous opportunities for personal and professional development.

The event demonstrated that studying at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa is about much more than attending classes. Above all, it means becoming part of an open, vibrant and diverse academic community, where every student can find opportunities to pursue their passions, ambitions and plans.
