3. SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF WORLD’S TOP 2% SCIENTISTS
The 3rd Scientific Conference of the World’s Top 2% Scientists has now taken place. Among the distinguished participants was Professor Yuriy Povstenko, from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Jan Dlugosz University.
The conference was held on 8 September 2026 in the Chamber Hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice. Further details can be found in the conference programme available on the website.
Each year, the group of the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists is identified based on established citation indicators for scientific publications in two categories: citations in the previous year and citations throughout an entire scientific career. The research was initiated in 2019 following the publication of a paper in the journal PLOS Biology by researchers from Stanford University, Elsevier and SciTech Strategies.
A total of 59 scientists from the world’s top 2% most-cited researchers registered for this year’s conference, which was the third edition of the event. More information is available in the conference report.
