ART COMPETITION “KAZIMIERZ PULASKI - HERO OF TWO NATIONS”

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa invites students from all fields of study to take part in the art competition “Kazimierz Pulaski - Hero of Two Nations”.

About the competition
The aim of the competition is to create original artistic works inspired by the figure of Kazimierz Pulaski and the ideas of freedom, intercultural dialogue and shared values. The organisers are not looking for a literal depiction of the historical figure. Instead, participants are encouraged to reflect on dual identity, the interplay of cultures, memory, freedom and the contemporary understanding of heroism.
Works may be created using any technique, including painting, drawing, traditional or digital printmaking, artistic photography, objects, installations and mixed media (maximum size: 150 cm on the longest side). Participation is free of charge, and each participant may submit one work.

How to take part
The competition consists of two stages:
1 Submission – by 7 October 2026: participants must submit the application form (Appendix 1 to the Regulations) and their competition entry to konkursplastyczny@ujd.edu.pl.
2 Delivery of works: participants selected by the Competition Committee for the second stage must deliver the original works by 15 October 2026 to the Office of the Department of Painting (Room 123, 4/8 Waszyngtona St., Czestochowa).
The selected works will be presented at a post-competition exhibition at the JDU Gallery. The winners will be selected by the Competition Committee together with the Rector of JDU.

Post-competition exhibition: 19 October - 31 December 2026
