JDU AT 4. INTERNATIONALISATION CONGRESS IN KRAKOW

On 18-19 May 2026, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa is participating in the 4th Internationalisation Congress, organised by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange and the AGH University of Krakow. The event is dedicated to the Strategy for the Sustainable Internationalisation of Science and Higher Education in Poland until 2035.

The Congress was opened with speeches by Wojciech Karczewski, Director of NAWA, and Jerzy Lis, Rector of AGH University of Krakow. During the opening ceremony, a speech was also delivered by Andrzej Szeptycki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, followed by a presentation of the key assumptions of the new internationalisation strategy.

The Congress programme includes key thematic sessions focusing on:
- The coherence and effectiveness of state policy for internationalisation,
- The place and role of internationalisation strategies within the science and higher education ecosystem,
- New geopolitics and its consequences for internationalisation,
- Security and academic freedom in international cooperation,
- The impact of internationalisation on the economic potential of local communities.


During the session “From Strategy to Action - National Perspectives”, representatives of agencies from Estonia (HARNO), France (Campus France), and Austria (OeAD) shared their countries’ experiences regarding internationalisation strategies. The event provides an important platform for the exchange of experiences within the Polish academic community.

The Congress also serves as an opportunity to discuss the practical aspects of implementing internationalisation strategies, funding mechanisms, and best practices in the internationalisation of basic research.
