“CIVIL LAW, ADMINISTRATIVE LAW & CRIMINAL LAW ASPECTS OF THE APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”
The international conference entitled “Civil Law, Administrative Law and Criminal Law Aspects of the Application of Artificial Intelligence” will take place on 18 May 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, 36a Armii Krajowej, Aula Humanitatis.
We are pleased to announce this international conference, focused on the application of AI in various areas of social and economic life, as well as the dilemmas associated with its development.
This exceptional event will bring together representatives of the leading academic institutions in Poland, members of the German scientific community, as well as public administration representatives from both countries. Its aim is to summarise the results of research conducted by scholars from Poland and Germany as part of a grant awarded by the Polish-German Foundation for Science.
The purpose of the research is to identify legal solutions while taking into account potential risks that may arise in the future for society and the economy, as well as to establish a legal framework for the use of artificial intelligence systems in accordance with the principles of the rule of law and the protection of human rights. The researchers focused, among other things, on issues related to liability for deepfakes in light of the AI Act and Polish and German criminal law, the civil law consequences of spreading fake news online in the context of civil liability for infringement of personal rights under Polish and German law, employee monitoring by employers using AI, and the administrative law possibilities of applying artificial intelligence in public administration.
The project aims to reduce deficits in Polish-German relations and promote experiences in the European context. Therefore, particular emphasis has been placed on the exchange of experiences within cooperation between the countries involved in the project and on developing the most beneficial socio-economic solutions for both countries.
The results of the joint research will subsequently be compiled and presented in the form of a book publication by the renowned German publishing house Springer.
The project is carried out by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, in cooperation with the University of Regensburg and the German-Polish Association of Lawyers (DPJV) based in Berlin, and constitutes a continuation of topics previously undertaken within cooperation with the German partner.
The researchers involved in the project include prof. Bogusław Przywora and prof. Ewa Tuora-Schwierskott on the Polish side, as well as prof. Gerrit Manssen and prof. Henning Mueller from the University of Regensburg, and Prof. Alexander Tischbirek and prof. Tabea Bauermeister on the German side.
The conference is addressed to the academic communities in Poland and Germany, students, researchers and doctoral candidates of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, as well as legal professionals in both countries.
The project has already received patronage from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin.
The conference will enrich the celebrations of the 55th anniversary of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa and the 200th anniversary of the city of Czestochowa.
