How to search for a journal title on EBSCO platforms

This training demonstrates how to effectively search for and identify academic journals available on EBSCO platforms. Participants will learn about features such as the EBSCOhost Publications Finder and the EBSCO Discovery Service, including searching by title and ISSN, checking full-text availability, and reviewing coverage dates. Differences between article searching and journal searching will also be explained, along with practical tips for quickly locating a specific issue or article.

During this session, participants will learn practical ways to create and manage bibliographies using the EBSCOhost platform. Features such as citation export and integration with popular reference managers like Zotero, Mendeley, and EndNote will be presented. The training will show how to correctly save, organise, and use bibliographic sources in academic, thesis, and research work - saving time and avoiding citation errors.

Participants will learn how to search for scholarly, review, and analytical articles in management, economics, operations research, and business strategy, as well as how to distinguish academic content from practical materials (e.g., case studies or articles from Harvard Business Review). Methods for filtering results and effectively using these resources in research, teaching, and analytical work will also be discussed.
