SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT JDU
Students from School and Preschool Complex No. 1 in Czestochowa, participating in the educational innovation programme “What will I become when I grow up?”, visited Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa at Zbierskiego 2/4. The visit provided an opportunity for their first contact with the academic environment and a chance to learn about the nature of university studies.
Classes for the young visitors were conducted by MSc Marta Wilczyńska-Zgrzebna and MSc Amelia Plaskura from the Faculty of Social Sciences, who introduced the students to the world of science and higher education in an accessible and engaging way. The participants had the opportunity to see selected teaching spaces of the university, including a lecture hall, a language classroom, and a moot court room used by law students.
During the meeting, the students learned, among other things, what a university is and what studying involves, what fields of study JDU offers, and what the admissions process looks like. They were also introduced to examples of modern technologies and teaching aids used in education, as well as the specifics of the work of a lecturer, psychologist, and lawyer. An important element of the visit was also an introduction to the topic of scientific research.
A lecture devoted to interesting and unusual scientific research attracted particular interest, generating lively reactions and many positive emotions among the participants.
At the end of the visit, each student received a commemorative diploma - a “Certificate of Completion of the Little Lecturer Course.”
The meeting was an inspiring experience that introduced the youngest participants to the idea of studying and developing scientific passions in an accessible way.
The event took place as part of the project “Discover the World with Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.”
