JDU STAFF CONDUCT RESEARCH ON WATERS OF PAJĄK RESERVOIR
The staff from the Faculty of Science & Technology at our University are carrying out research on the waters of the Pająk Reservoir, taking into account their seasonal variability. This project is the result of an agreement signed in December 2025 between Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa and the Municipality of Konopiska, represented by Mayor Artur Brędzel.
The project is supervised by prof. Joanna Kończyk from the Institute of Chemistry, who coordinates the research and, together with dr Paulina Otrembska, conducts physicochemical analyses. Meanwhile, MSc Agnieszka Godela from the Department of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology carries out microbiological studies, enabling a comprehensive assessment of the condition of the aquatic environment and sanitary safety at different times of the year. A biotechnology student, Krzysztof Gliński, supports the team by collecting water samples from various parts of the reservoir and performing their microscopic evaluation.
The results obtained will provide the municipal authorities with a reliable basis for assessing the current state of the waters, their further improvement and - if necessary - the implementation of measures ensuring their cleanliness and safety for residents and tourists, as well as the sustainable functioning of the Pająk Reservoir as a recreational and leisure area.
