JDU STUDENTS EARN THEIR PLACES IN AMP FINALS

The beginning of the year always marks the start of JDU students’ participation in the Polish Academic Championships (AMP). Traditionally, futsal is the discipline that opens the new season.

From 22-25 January in Katowice, the men’s futsal team took part in the AMP semi-final tournament. Our players finished the group stage in second place. In the quarter-final match, the JDU team defeated the University of Zielona Gora, and then lost in the semi-final to the team from the Katowice University of Physical Education. After a victorious match for third place against the team from the Wroclaw University of Physical Education, our team secured promotion to the AMP final tournament.

A few days later, the JDU women’s team took to the court. From 29 January to 1 February 2026 in Lublin, they competed for a place in the finals. The JDU players did not disappoint - after two wins and one loss in the group stage, they advanced to the knockout phase from second place. A further victory over ANS Nowy Sacz, followed by a draw with UMCS Lublin, allowed them to fight for a medal position in the tournament. Our representatives made the most of their opportunity and, by defeating the team from the Krakow University of Physical Education, finished in third place. Like the men’s team, they also earned promotion to the AMP finals.
