DR SIDERSKI’S PHOTOBOOK RECOGNISED BY CULTURE.PL

The artistic photobook Tributaries, Vibrations, Afterimages and Songs on the Banks by dr Rafał Siderski (Department of Photography, JDU) has been recognised as one of the most significant phenomena in the photographic summary of 2025 prepared by Culture.pl.

In this prestigious magazine, we can read, among other things:
“2025 also brought important projects created in Poland that combined a sensitive documentary approach with deep reflection on landscape and place. In the book Tributaries, Vibrations, Afterimages and Songs on the Banks, the duo of Małgorzata Lebda and Rafał Siderski offers a poetic-visual narrative about the Vistula River. This is a project that avoids straightforward ecological journalism. Instead, the authors propose what they themselves described in an interview for Culture.pl as ‘looking attentively’ - a practice of unhurried, mindful presence by the river. Siderski’s photographs coexist with the text on equal terms, creating a documentary elegy for a threatened ecosystem.”
