JDU ACADEMIC CHOIR TRIUMPHS AT OHRID CHOIR FESTIVAL!

The Academic Choir of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa won 2nd place at the prestigious Ohrid Choir Festival in Macedonia (August 21–25, 2025). Under the direction of dr Marek Kudra, our singers achieved an impressive score of 88.67 out of 100 points.

The choir took part in the competition audition and performed at festival concerts – the Folk and Pop Concert as well as Sacred Music - presenting a wide and diverse repertoire.

The concerts were held in remarkable venues: the Diamond Hall of Hotel Inex Olgica and the historic Church of St. Sophia. The participants also had the opportunity to listen to ensembles from Turkey, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Romania, Macedonia, and the Netherlands, which created an extraordinary occasion for musical exchange and inspiration.

Now it is time for some well-deserved rest by the beautiful Lake Ohrid and for discovering the charms of the culture, history, and landscapes of North Macedonia! Congratulations to the choir and the conductor!
