„BORDERLESS HISTORICAL TOURISM"

We warmly invite you to visit the new exhibition titled "Borderless Historical Tourism", available at the UJD Library Gallery at 36a Armii Krajowej Avenue. 2-30 VI 2025. Admission is free.

This unique exhibition tells the story of the author's personal adventures in places that might seem inconspicuous – often overlooked on tourist maps, yet full of mystery, extraordinary atmosphere, and great historical significance. These are locations not always suited for recreational sightseeing but rather for confronting the truth and engaging in deep reflection. The exhibition takes us on a journey through sites reminiscent of adventure films, evoking the spirit of Indiana Jones – full of forgotten plot twists and traces of significant historical events.

Although not always considered classic monuments, the presented locations hide stories that can surprise, inspire, and spark the imagination. Each place tells its own tale – sometimes linked to dramatic events, local legends, or remnants of past civilizations. Among them are: the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, Iran, Iraq, including Kurdistan, Ukraine (including Chernobyl), Pakistan, and the Mexican borderlands. All photographs were taken by the author during his travels and explorations in areas where history blends with adventure.

The exhibition "Borderless Historical Tourism" also serves as a preview of a larger project the author intends to realize – one that combines a passion for travel, photography, languages, meeting people, and an unconventional approach to history. The aim of the project is to present history not only through the lens of textbooks but also as a living, sometimes hidden fabric waiting to be rediscovered.

This event is not only for history and photography enthusiasts, but for everyone who wants to see the world from a different perspective – one full of adventure, curiosity, and an endless passion for discovery. In his spare time, the author plans to visit even more unexpected places on the map of the world.
